Since its launch in 2015, ICONIC London sold its products both within the UK and internationally via its ecommerce website. However, its offering was limited; it was only able to display prices in GBP, EUR, USD and AUD and accept payments via credit card, debit card and PayPal. Furthermore, the brand was only able to offer its international customers standard shipping at high rates with long waits until delivery and with no straightforward returns process in place, which collectively led to low international conversion rates.

In Saudi Arabia for example, shoppers are now able to pay with Cash on Delivery (COD), a popular payment and delivery method in many Middle Eastern countries. Saudi Arabia has now become one of the brand’s top selling international markets. Other examples can be seen in the Netherlands where 59% of customers choose to pay using iDeal and in Germany where 30% of shoppers choose to pay via Klarna.

The localised shopping experience provided to international customers has had a significant effect on international conversion rates and sales across markets. Notably, the USA, ICONIC London’s largest international market both before and after integrating with Global-e, has seen an incredible 349% increase in its sales and Israel has moved up to become the brand’s fourth largest international market with a fantastic 382% increase in sales.
