Sustainable footwear brand, Native Shoes, saw international conversion rates increase by 76% YoY within one year

The Challenge

Native Shoes, the Canadian-based eco-friendly footwear brand, already had a loyal following worldwide. As global sales are a significant part of its business, the company had implemented several cross-border ecommerce solutions over the years which enabled them to display prices in different currencies and provide international shoppers with basic duties and taxes calculations. However, these solutions were limited in terms of their localisation capabilities and their ability to help the brand grow their international online sales; foreign currencies were not rounded according to market convention, local and alternative payment methods were not offered and local pricing per market was not supported.
Furthermore, Native Shoes were only able to offer shipping at very high prices with no tracking or express options offered, which was negatively impacting their international conversion rates.

In order to capitalise on the international opportunity and increase global conversion rates, Native Shoes wanted to upgrade their international offering to provide global customers with a seamless, online shopping experience. They also sought a partner that would support their business model as a Canadian company shipping cross-border through a hub based in the US.

The Solution

The brand was able to offer an advanced localised experience, including all these features, also on its new Salesforce Commerce Cloud ecommerce platform, utilising Global-e’s certified Salesforce Commerce Cloud cartridge. Global-e supported the re-platforming process, ten months after integration, making sure it was smooth and that there were no interruptions to the brand’s international selling.

The brand was able to offer an advanced localised experience, including all these features, also on its new Salesforce Commerce Cloud ecommerce platform, utilising Global-e’s certified Salesforce Commerce Cloud cartridge.

The Results

Since partnering with Global-e, Native Shoes has seen its international online business grow exponentially. Within one year following integration, international conversion rates increased by 76% YoY, the number of orders grew by 159% YoY and international online revenues grew by 92% YoY. The brand has seen significant growth across its key markets including the UK, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. Native Shoes has also successfully expanded its global customer base by penetrating into markets which saw few sales before, such as Germany and Russia, which have become among their top international markets.
By leveraging the best practices and recommendations provided by Global-e, based on extensive BI analysis across verticals and peer groups as well as continuous support from the Global-e success managers team, Native Shoes has been able to further improve its global online performance and achieve additional growth across markets worldwide.

In Germany, for example, over 70% of shoppers prefer to pay with an alternative option such as Klarna, Sofortuberweisung and PayPal. Conversion rates in this market increased by 188% YoY within one year of implementation and revenues grew by 463% within two years, making it to one of the brand’s top 10 international markets.
