This Acceptable Use Policy describes products, services and activities that are prohibited or restricted in connection with your use of Global-e’s Services. Additional restrictions and/or prohibitions may be applicable.
Prohibited
Global-e’s Services are not allowed to be used in connection with any of the following:
- Sexually explicit or offensive products, services, activities, or content, including but not limited to:
Pornographic or offensive products, services and activities
Fetish items that can cause pain or restrict movement.
- Charities and donations
- Drugs and any products containing drugs, including but not limited to CBD, THC and Kava Kava
- Fresh, prepared or animal-based food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Live plants, seeds, fruit and vegetables
- Live animals and products of direct animal origin
- Gambling, sport betting and lotteries , excluding physical betting accessories such as poker kits, poker tables, playing cards
- Hate and violence promotion, incitement, or facilitation of hate, violence, harassment or abuse against people based on race, ethnicity, color, national origin, religion, political, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or medical condition
- Intellectual property products, services, activities, or content, that infringe any third party's intellectual property rights
- NFTs, virtual/crypto currencies and sales of social media engagement metrics (followers, likes, views)
- Anti-money laundering (AML) related items, including cash, bullion, fine art and loose precious or semi-precious stones
- Prescription drugs and Over the Counter (OTC) drugs
- Online or other non-face-to-face pharmacies or pharmacy referral services
- Products intended for sexual performance enhancement
- Highly regulated medical devices
- Services including but not limited to governmental, legal, financial and travel services
- Unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts, products or practices, including but not limited to:
- Multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes
- Pawn shop and bidding fee auctions
- Weapons, firearms, ammunitions and explosives, including weapons equipment and items specifically designed for use in offensive or defensive combat operations, including but not limited to:
- Military-grade supplies and equipment, such as weapon sights, vests, helmets and body armour plates, excluding camouflage clothing, boots, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, field rations clothing, holsters
- Advanced encryption devices and scrambling technology
- Dual use products which are primarily designed for civilian applications but have the potential to be misused for military purposes or activities that could threaten public safety or national security
1. Global-e does not support items originating from the following sanctioned countries of origin (COO), which are prohibited:
Restricted
We may restrict Global-e’s Services or require furtherinvestigation if in connection with your use of the Services you offer anyproduct, service, transaction, or activity that involves any of thefollowing:
- Adult products or content which are not prohibited
- Car parts
- Endangered or protected animals and wildlife products
- Hazard materials
- High-end jewellery
- Nutraceuticals which are not prohibited
- Regulated products or services, including any products and services that breach, facilitate or promote any unlawful or regulated activities
- If, in our sole discretion, we believe that the Services have engaged in any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy, we may (with or without notice) take such actions as we deem appropriate to mitigate risk to Global-e and any impacted third parties and to ensure compliance with this Acceptable Use Policy.
Such actions may include, without limitation:
a. Blocking the settlement or completion of one or more payments;
b. Suspending, restricting or terminating access to and use of Services;
c. Terminating our business relationship, including termination without liability to Global-e of any payment service agreement with Global-e;
d. Taking legal actions;
e. Contacting and disclosing information related to such violations to (i) persons who have purchased goods or services listed herein, (ii) any banks or Card Networks involved with your business or transactions, (iii) law enforcement or regulatory agencies, and (iv) other third parties that may have been impacted by such violations; or
f. Assessing any fees, penalties, assessments or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) that we may incur as a result of such violations, which you agree to pay promptly upon notice.
Special Approvals
As a matter of policy, the approval of Global-e’s Chief Operating Officer and the VP of Global Trade will be required in connection with any special approval granted under this policy.
Amendments
This Acceptable Use Policy may be amended by Global-e at any time by posting a new version of it on this webpage.
By accessing or using the Services after a new version is posted, you agree to all amendments reflected therein.
This ‘Acceptable Use Policy’ is governed by Global-e’s Trade Controls Policy and Global-e’s General Anti-Money Laundering and the Prevention of Terrorism in Operations, and should be used in conjunction with such policies, which will prevail any inconsistency with this policy.
