Database Administrator (DBA)

Global-e is seeking a skilled and passionate Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Core R&D team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining the backbone of our core systems. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, highly experienced in SQL Server, and familiar with other database technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to Application Developers for DB Tasks.
  • Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning.
  • Write test and deploy SQL
  • Research and study new features and perform POCs.
  • Ability to become the expert on a specific domain of technology and provide technical consultation to other team members. 

Requirements

  • 5 years of hands-on experience  as an Application SQL Server DBA (Complex Queries, Procedures, Functions, etc.), Query performance tuning and optimization.
  • Hands on other database (e.g. PostgreSQL, CouchBase, etc.) Advantage.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Working with modern development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) – Continues Development/ Continuous Deployment
  • Reminder that team focus is Troubleshooting
