The Migration Process

Is it mandatory to move to the Shopify Native integration?

All Global-e clients who are trading on the Shopify platform will be migrated to the Native Shopify integration by the end of July 2023.

Who will lead the migration process?

Global-e will be taking care of all aspects of the integration. Once we agree on a start date and kick off the project, our Project Team will be in touch with you directly with any updates.

How long will the migration project take?

Based on several factors, migration should take 2-4 weeks. For some merchants, migration may take longer, depending on complexity.

What is required from the merchant?

Once we start your migration we will need permission to access your Shopify store admin. The Global-e project team will contact you in this respect as well as if anything else will be required.

Is any outage to our webstore expected during the migration process?

The migration process should be seamless and our team will be monitoring the process closely to ensure no disruptions to your webstore.

The new integration supports over 95 currencies and no change will be made to your pricing set up.

All shipping options offered via the current integration are supported by the Native Shopify integration and no changes will be made to your current delivery and return proposition.

  • Tax and duties calculation and prepayment

All tax and duties capabilities are supported by the Native Shopify integration and no change will be made to your current setting and propositions.

  • Supported Payment methods

All payment methods supported via the current integration are supported by the Native Shopify integration, with the exception of PayPal Express and Amazon Pay.

Which merchants are already using the Shopify native solution?

True Classic, SKKN and Triangl are some of the merchants who have implemented the new Shopify native integration.

Will I be able to use Shopify’s coupons?

Yes, you will be able to use Shopify’s coupons ‘out of the box’.

Will I be able to use my existing gift card solution?

Yes, you will be able to use your existing gift card solution ‘out of the box’.

Will there be any changes to the Global-e Admin and Refund Portal?

There will be no changes and you can continue to use the same URL and credentials to access the Global-e Merchant portal.

Will there be any changes to the Global-e fulfilment process?

No, the fulfilment process will remain the same.

Will I be able to customize my international customer communication?

Following migration all transaction emails will be sent out via your Shopify platform. This means you will be able to manage and customize these the same way you manage your domestic customer communication.

Can I keep my translated site?

Yes, the Shopify Native integration supports translated websites.
