The Challenge

As a popular and successful fashion brand, Pepe Jeans London is sold in over 7000 outlets and operates more than 300 Pepe Jeans London stores around the world. In addition to its brick and mortar stores, Pepe Jeans London also sold internationally via its websites, but was able to provide just a limited offering; displaying prices in only EUR, GBP and USD, and accepting payment only from major credit cards and PayPal. Furthermore, the brand experienced many technical issues with its international checkout. These limitations contributed to high bounce rates among cross-border shoppers and prevented the brand from realising its cross-border ecommerce potential.

The Results

In just eight months since partnering with Global-e, Pepe Jeans London has seen impressive results in its cross-border ecommerce sales, with an overall YoY increase of 133% in its international conversion rates and a 111% increase in revenues from its international online sales. This growth has been particularly strong in markets where the brand does not operate its own stores, such as in the USA where Pepe Jeans London has seen its online revenues increase 144% YoY and its conversion rates increase 180%.

Providing international shoppers with a fully localised online shopping experience tailored to shopper preferences and behaviours has a significant effect on checkout conversions: In Canada, for example, where online revenues have increased 116% and conversion rates have increased 161%, 100% of shoppers choose to purchase in Canadian Dollars and 94% opt to prepay the local duties and taxes at checkout. In Japan 98% of customers choose to buy in Japanese Yen and 86% of them prefer to pay their duties and taxes at checkout.

Furthermore, Pepe Jeans London has seen a huge increase in its number of active markets since partnering with Global-e, significantly increasing sales in many markets that previously recorded low sales volumes such as Australia, India, Russia and Greece.

Furthermore, introducing free express shipping worldwide for all purchases over EUR 150, has resulted in an additional uplift in sales numbers and an overall 30% YoY increase in AOV worldwide.
